Sales Manager in Canberra - Premium Health and Fitness Club

AUD $75,000 base + [commission structure to confirm]

Location: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory.

Our client is a premium health and fitness club in Canberra with a strong local reputation and a loyal membership base. They're looking for a Sales Manager to take ownership of membership sales, lead the consultant team and keep the club growing in a competitive local market.

If you know the Canberra fitness scene, you'll know how much of it comes down to relationships. This is a club that sells on quality rather than price, which means the role is about building genuine community and corporate connections across the city, not chasing volume. You'll have real autonomy from day one and a leadership team who back their managers.

On offer is an AUD $75,000 base salary with commission on top, a club team that takes service standards seriously, and a clear progression path towards General Manager for someone who delivers.

Working pattern: Full time, 38 hours per week, with some evening and weekend cover in line with club trading hours.

Key responsibilities:

• Sales leadership: Leading and developing the membership sales team, setting the standard on the floor and in the numbers.

• Targets: Owning monthly sales and retention targets, and reporting performance to the club leadership team.

• Local partnerships: Building corporate and community partnerships across Canberra to keep the enquiry pipeline healthy.

• Conversion: Managing enquiries end to end, from first contact through tour to sign-up.

• Coaching: Running one to ones, role plays and pipeline reviews that lift individual performance.

• Member experience: Delivering an onboarding journey that keeps new members engaged well past their first ninety days.

About you:

• Sales background: You are a Sales Manager, Assistant Manager or a high-performing Membership Consultant ready for your first leadership role.

• Local knowledge: You understand the Canberra market and can open doors with local businesses and community groups.

• Process driven: You work to a structured sales process and can coach others through it.

• Resilient: You are energetic, personable and comfortable being measured on a number every month.

• Eligible to work: You have full working rights in Australia, whether that's citizenship, permanent residency or an existing visa.
